The conference will be held at The Oxford Hotel in Oxford, famous the world over for it’s dreaming spires, academic excellence and 800 years of history. The town is now a very cosmopolitan centre and delegates are invited to enjoy both modern and ancient aspects of the city.
The conference dinner will be held in Wadham College which was established 399 years ago by Nicholas and Dorothy Wadham in the reign of King James I. Notable members of the college include Robert Blake, Christopher Wren, C. B. Fry, Sir Thomas Beecham, Cecil Day-Lewis, Michael Foot, Dr Rowan Williams and Melvyn Bragg. The college was founded for men only, except for the laundress who was to be of 'such age, condition, and reputation as to be above suspicion'. However these rules were relaxed and in 1974 the statutes were altered to allow women as full members of the college at all levels. The college was one of the first in Oxford to make the change.
The Oxford Hotel is the city's newest four-star conference venue, located two miles from the City Centre rail and coach stations and minutes from the A34 and M40.
