Welcome to the ALAMA Autumn Conference 2009
The ALAMA Autumn Conference; Raising the Standard is a key event for Occupational Health Physicians. The Conference aims to address important current issues in a programme that is relevant, informative and thought provoking with both strategic keynote presentations and specialist breakout sessions for Fire, Police and Local Authorities. It offers opportunities to access the latest research, analyse new thinking, explore new initiatives and understand changes that impact on service delivery.

Being in the 'Know' is pivotal to success especially in this time when we find ourselves in a world where change could be described as a constant in almost every aspect of our lives. Keeping up to date to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible service is essential and the autumn conference is an excellent opportunity to do this and more.

The conference programme has been developed in close consultation within the profession and focuses on raising standards, finding ways to deliver excellent services for clients as well as developing personal and professional effectiveness in these changing times. CPD Points will be awarded for attendance.

We invite you to join us at the Redworth Hall Hotel, a breathtaking retreat and luxury hotel on the edge of the northeast hub. Originally a Jacobean manor house, it is set in the midst of 150 acres of stunning private grounds at the end of a sweeping driveway lined with lime trees.

Future Clinical Presentations at Conference
ALAMA is keen to ensure future conferences include opportunities for OH physicians to access the latest thinking/research on clinical issues. We would like to include short presentations and posters, which offer an opportunity to present information, ideas or new research about selected initiatives.

If you would like to propose a presentation or a poster at a future conference please send a short summary to alama@emmm.co.uk (clearly marked Presentation Proposal) and it will be put forward and considered for inclusion in upcoming conference programmes.

Diary Dates for 2010
The ALAMA Spring Conference will be held in the Hilton Hotel, Belfast on 17-19 March 2010. Due to venue availability restrictions the conference will open informally on the evening of 17th March and the academic programme will start on the morning of Thursday 18th and run through till late Friday afternoon on the 19th.

Put the dates in your diary now – and don’t forget the 17th is St Patrick’s Day so it should be fun in the city that night! Accommodation options will also be available for those wishing to extend their stay over the weekend.
