Redworth Hall Hotel
The grand old manor house dates back to 1744 and the hotel, today, has retained many original rooms and successfully combines traditional elegance with contemporary style, particularly in the newly added Spa bedrooms and the well equipped leisure club which includes a beauty treatment centre.
The manor was linked to the Surtees family until the 1950’s when it became a residential school for ‘naughty boys’ before converting to a hotel in 1987. For those of a ‘delicate’ nature it must be pointed out the hotel is said to be the home to at least two ghosts… Redworth Hall is set in Heighington Village, Newton Aycliffe, six miles from Darlington and its famous railway station and conveniently located as a centre for exploring County Durham (Land of the Prince Bishops), the beautiful Northumberland coast line, outdoor life as it was in the 1800’s at Beamish (a fascinating open air museum) or Durham and its imposing medieval cathedral which is only 20 minutes away. Accommodation How to get there By rail The nearest railway startion to Redworth Hall is Darlington station. Directions provided by Google maps;
