What is it?
The 2008 TMI Annual Convention, Destination Management: Cutting Edge Skills for Changing Markets, is the most directly productive event in the destination management calendar.

Designed to meet the specific needs of tourism professionals, this event combines a variety of practical sessions and expert advice with leading keynote plenaries and lively debates. To further extend the benefits of attending, delegates can opt into a programme of study tours, and enjoy peer-to-peer networking in structured breaks and during social events.

Who is speaking?
Our keynote speaker, courtesy of Tourism South West, is Jonathon Porritt, founding Director of Forum for the Future and Chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission. He will discuss how global sustainable development challenges are set to drive massive change in tourism markets and identify what the sector needs to do now to be ahead of the game and make the most of emerging opportunities

Our Positioning Plenary address "Educating for Tourism Success" will be delivered by Prof. John Tribe from the University of Surrey. The University of Surrey is, at present, the Chair of the Education and Science Council of UNWTO.
